The Gojou Dessert Book: Pour Some Sugar On Me is a fandom zine that will include fanart, fanfic, recipes, and several merch items, surrounding the theme of sweet food and desserts, and our favourite chaotic man, Gojou Satoru. Set to be produced and shipped by September 2022.This project is brought to you by Mishmash zines!

Sloaners can't wait to don the mod apron again and help whip up some sweet treats for this zine!

Art Mod For: The Nanami Cookbook.Thystle is an illustrator, history buff, and tea enthusiast. In their free time, they enjoy reading and writing fic, playing with their cat, and trying new recipes. He was successfully baited into JJK with Nanami and the train hasn’t stopped since! The next mission is dragging everyone into rarepairs and OT3 hell with them, along with helping out on this project!

☆ Socials & Organisation ModIntroducing Mod Sakky, our lovely socials and organisation mod who'll be working hard behind the scenes to wrangle admin, along with keeping our Twitter up-to-date.Mod Experience: Head & Organization: Sonnets & Seasons (Hubernie Fanbook), Intern: Lúin (Ingrid fanzine) & The Nanami Cookbook.Sakky is a merch artist and that one annoying friend who takes a dozen shots of their food before eating! She is obsessed with Nanamin and bread, and spends an unhealthy amount of time watching pretty cake tutorials and wishing she had an oven.

APP GUIDELINES

Contributor applications will be open from March 1 to March 31. Before you fill out the application form, please do take a moment to carefully read over our requirements.All applicants must be aged 16 or over at the time of application.Please create a Google Drive folder containing your portfolio, and make sure that all the links work and that the permissions are set to be viewed by anyone with a link (this can be found in the share settings). SFW examples are preferable, but we will accept NSFW pieces, too. Your portfolio submission must contain at least one JJK piece.~


**☆ Page Artists ☆
**

  • 3-5 pieces that best showcase and represent your style. We’ll be looking at your overall ability on coloring and composition of a piece - including backgrounds, values, colour balance, understanding of form and depth, and anatomy. So make sure to send us your best works!

  • At least 2 of the pieces must be a finished illustration in full color, including a background so that we can get a feel for your artistic range

  • Digital and traditional art are both accepted (traditional must be scanned in high quality)


**☆ Merch Artists ☆

  • 3-5 pieces that best showcase and represent your style. We’ll be looking at your overall ability to design merchandise - including color palette, composition, fit to product. So make sure to send us your best works!

  • At least 1 piece must be merch work, so that we can get a feel for your design range.


**☆ Writers ☆
**

  • 2-3 pieces that best showcase and represent your writing. We’ll be looking at your overall ability based on characterization and how well you tell a story. This will include plot, flow, grammar, and punctuation, so make sure to send us your best works!

  • Each piece must be no more than 2,000 words, with a maximum total word count of 6,000 for all pieces combined.

  • The pieces can be published or unpublished.

**☆ Chefs ☆
**


  • 2-3 original sweet/dessert recipes that you’ve created, including imperial and metric measurements, and serving quantity. We’ll be looking for recipes that are clear and concise, easy to understand, and simple to make.

FAQ

1) Is this zine for profit or charity?The Gojou Dessrt Book will be both for charity and profit, meaning that after production costs, the profits will go towards all the zine contributors and also our chosen charity.2) What is the theme?Our theme is sweet cooking and desserts inspired by our favourite sugar gremlin, Gojou Satoru! This can be set in the canon-compliant universe, or an AU of your choosing. As long as works are Gojou-centric and include the theme, we welcome any AU!3) Who are the mods for this zine?Our team is made up of: Yabakuboi, MagnusTesla, Thystle, Sloaners, Vulcanhighblood, Thechaoscryptid, and Sakky.4) What are your requirements for contributor applications?All applicants must be aged 16 or over at the time of application.Please create a Google Drive folder containing your portfolio, and make sure that all the links work and that the permissions are set to be viewed by anyone with a link (this can be found in the share settings). SFW examples are preferable, but we will accept NSFW pieces, too. Your portfolio submission must contain at least one JJK piece.5) Do you have guest contributors?We will! The mods will discuss guest contributors they’d like to see along with those suggested in the interest form, and, after a vote is cast, we will invite them on board. We’ll announce them at a later date!6) How will contributors be compensated for participating?Contributors will at the very least get a digital copy of the zine. We would like to get contributors a full physical bundle, and free shipping for them if possible, too. After production costs, profits will be split between contributors and our chosen charity.7) When do the contributor applications open?Contributor applications will open March 1 - March 31. We hope to see you apply!8) Who is allowed to apply?We’re looking for: page artists, merch artists, chefs, and fanfic writers! If you have questions about which application you should apply to, please reach out!9) Can contributors apply for more than one position?Yes, of course! But please note, if accepted, it will only be for one position chosen at the mods' discretion.10) How many pieces of art will artists be expected to create?Each zine artist is responsible for 1 page of artwork.11) How many pieces of merch will merch artists be expected to create?Each merch artist is responsible at minimum for 1 piece of merch.12) What will be the minimum and maximum word count expected for writers?The min word count is set at 1,500 words, with a maximum of 3,000.13) Will you be emailing applications, regardless of being successful or rejected?No one likes being left in the dark, so of course everyone will receive an email with their application status. We’ll endeavour to get them sent out as scheduled, but please bear with us if we’re a little late.14) How many contributors are being allowed into the zine?1 cover artist, 25 page artists, 6-8 merch artists, 5 writers, and 10 chefs. These numbers are tentative, and may be subject to change based on the number of applications.15) Will you be shipping internationally? What will the costs be?International shipping will be available, but we cannot guarantee rates until closer to time for preorders! We will keep customers informed of that information when it is time to order.16) Will the zine be available as a digital copy as well?Absolutely! The zine will be released in both physical and digital formats.17) Will the applicants be able to request critiques?Mods are unable to provide critiques at this time.
